ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA)

AFTA was established to increase ASEAN's competitive advantage as a production base and to promote regional integration. The Common Effective Preferential Tariff (CEPT) scheme reduces or eliminates tariffs on goods traded among member states. Malaysia has been a key participant since the framework was adopted in 1992, with tariff liberalisation largely complete for most product lines.

ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA)

Tariff reduction and elimination are implemented under the Agreement on Trade in Goods; Malaysia benefits from preferential access for key exports including palm oil, rubber, and electronics.

Malaysia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (MJEPA)
